Founded in 1948 by parents seeking a local preschool alternative, Fox Chapel Country Day school has grown to serve 130 students, pre-kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Country Day shares a beautiful 18-acre site with the Fox Chapel Episcopal Church and boasts a $1.1 million addition to its physical plant. Although its program is non-sectarian, children attend chapel once a week. With a balanced emphasis on academics and the arts, Country Day is dedicated to the development of each child's basic skills, creativity and self-confidence. Students encounter a positive, unhurried, nurturing environment and a traditional, yet flexible academic program. At Country Day, challenging academics are complimented by opportunities for outdoor play and the exploration of the School's natural setting.
